Louis and Melinda Mapp have made a gift of $500,000 to the Life… It’s Worth Giving capital campaign. The campaign will fund the creation of a modern and expanded Birth Center.

 

“Thomas Hospital is taking proactive steps to ensure that they can continue to meet our community’s needs,” said Louis Mapp.

 

A birth is more than a healthcare experience.  It is one of the few times that a patient chooses a hospital for a positive reason. It is an exciting family experience, shared by children and grandparents alike.

 

“It is important that the women in our community trust in the care they receive at Thomas Hospital. Nationally, women make 80% of a family’s healthcare decisions, and we want to ensure that we are meeting their expectations,” noted Scott Cooper, Foundation Board Member.

 

“The new Birth Center will be yet another example of the
high quality of care we can expect from Thomas Hospital,” said Louis Mapp.

 

The first experience many families will have with a hospital is during the birth of a child. The new Birth Center will offer an exceptional experience. It will help mothers feel confident about seeking care at Thomas Hospital in the future.

 

“Creating a Birth Center that better serves mothers-to-be and families is crucial to meeting the patients’ expectation of quality, privacy, and special care at the time of birth and for years afterward,” stated Melinda Mapp.
